5 Spiritual Practices That Can Lead To Higher Self-Awareness
Being spiritual is about learning to be a better version of yourself every day by connecting with your inner spirit or Self. Self awareness and spiritual growth, therefore, affect your every day interactions and activity.
Spiritual practices are the tools used to attain this connection with the Self. Here is a list of 5 everyday practices that can lead you to higher awareness:
Practice self-compassion: We’re all used to being compassionate toward other people and creatures, and helping them when they need it. But how often can you say that you’re compassionate toward yourself? As they say charity begins at home; so does compassion. Unless you can be compassionate toward yourself, you cannot be truly compassionate to people and creatures around you.
Stop complaining: Every time you complain you give out negative vibrations into the universe. This may not be such a bad thing, except that whatever you release into the universe comes back to you multifold. Therefore, it is important to let go of the inner complainer and start taking responsibility of your journey.
Learn to be vulnerable: Being vulnerable is considered weakness, particularly if you are a male. However, when you start to be honest and vulnerable to yourself, you attract honest energy. Moreover, when you learn to be vulnerable, you learn to surrender to divinity in a very powerful way. This is particularly important when you’re meditating on the Mother Goddess. With her, you must be the way a child would be with his/her mother.
Know your self-worth: No matter how people have treated you, or treat you now, you have to know your own self worth. You have to know your own qualities and appreciate your existence. You cannot let other people’s judgment define your journey, even if these judgments come from close friends and family. Only you know your Self and experiences in their entirety.
Be a good listener: Being a good listener helps you tap into your intuitive energy. When you’re not a good listener, not only do you not receive messages from your friends, family, and strangers, but you also build a wall to higher guidance. It is therefore very important to be a good listener to cultivate your intuition.
