Dhanvantari Sadhana
Our ancestors had it right. Health is wealth. They use to say that our body is a temple for our soul, we should take care of it. Modern lifestyle is exactly the opposite. Polluted environment, eating habits and busy schedules are the primary reasons behind our physical downfall. Cases of lifestyle and psychological diseases are rising in unprecedented numbers worldwide.
Many Sages live in the deep caves of freezing Himalayas, with hardly any clothes to wear, with very minimal food to consume. They never get sick, they never have a physical illness, nor do they ever have any psychological disorders. The reason- All of them are exemplary Sadhak of Lord Dhanvantari, the God of Health. Lord Dhanvantari Is an Avatar of Lord Vishnu, who brought Ayurveda on this earth for the wellbeing of people.
Real reason behind Dhanteras to be Celebrated
Dhanteras or Dhanatrayodashi is celebrated on the auspicious day, one day before Diwali, to celebrate and pray to Lord Dhanvantari, who brings good physical and mental health in our homes.
It is said, on this day, lord Dhanvantari emerged from the sea, as a result of sea churning between Gods And Demons, holding a pot of Amrut, the elixir of immortality. While every Sadhak needs to go through the cycle of achieving and experiencing all material wealth before merging with the divine – having an ill body, a sick mind and an empty soul won’t help matters.
Dhanvantari Sadhana prepares you, improving your physical and mental health, preparing you for the future Sadhana that you will undergo, for reaching new heights in the realm of Spirituality.
