Different types of Kundali Doshas
Doshas. They have a very dangerous connotation when they appear in your horoscope. From causing mild discomfort in the stomach to potentially resulting in untimely death, the aura surrounding the word “Dosha” is significant. But what exactly are Doshas, and why do they hold such power in the realm of astrology? In this blog, we’ll delve into the fascinating world of Kundali Doshas, exploring their different types and understanding their implications on one’s life. So, buckle up as we embark on a journey to uncover the mysteries behind these cosmic imbalances and their impact on human destiny.
What is Kundali Dosha?
What exactly does it mean when we talk about a “Kundli Dosha”? Well, imagine your birth chart as a celestial map, a snapshot of the positions of planets at the moment you were born. This chart, known as a Janma Kundli (Birth chart), holds secrets about the potential ups and downs you may encounter in life.
Now, a “Dosha” (problem) in your Kundli is like a cosmic imbalance, caused by certain planets occupying unfavorable positions. These positions are determined by factors like the date, time, and place of your birth. Understanding these arrangements and their implications is crucial in unlocking the mysteries of your destiny. So, let’s dive deeper into the different types of Kundli Doshas and unravel their spiritual significance.
How are Kundali Doshas formed?
In Hindu philosophy, there’s a deep belief in the karmic cycle, where our actions from past lives shape our current circumstances. Whether we experience fortune or challenges in this life is thought to be a reflection of our past deeds, or karma. If we’ve acted in ways that are unkind or harmful, we might face the consequences in the form of Kundli Doshas affecting different aspects of our lives.
For instance, imagine mistreating your mother in a previous life. This could manifest as a Dosha related to the Moon in your birth chart, hindering your relationship with her. This Dosha, known as “Vish Yoga,” might bring constant strife and lack of happiness in your maternal bond, affecting your mental peace and familial connections.
Similarly, another Dosha to consider is “Manglik Dosha.” These Kundli Doshas, like many others, stem from our past actions, serving as reminders that we must confront and reconcile with the repercussions of our deeds in this lifetime.
Different types of Kundali Doshas
Mangal Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Mars in Specific Houses
Mars in your Kundli can cause trouble, also known as Kuja Dosha or Manglik Dosh.
Mangal Dosha occurs when Mars resides in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, and 12th houses, and in some cases, the 2nd house.
This Dosha often affects married life, bringing imbalance and challenges to couples.
Kaal Sarp Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Planets Between Rahu & Ketu
When all planets are enclosed between Rahu and Ketu, a Kaal Sarp Dosha is formed.
It leads to struggles and obstacles, making it one of the toughest Kundli Doshas.
Example: If Rahu is in Aries and Ketu in Scorpio, and other planets are between Taurus and Libra, a Kaal Sarp Dosha is present.
Nadi Dosha
Caused By: Difference in the ‘Nadi’ in a Potential Couple
Nadi (pulse) matching is crucial in Patrika matching before marriage.
When the Nadi of a couple is the same, it’s termed as Nadi Dosha, often affecting children, health, and genes.
Nadi Dosha may bring challenges related to children in a couple’s life.
Pitru Dosha
Caused By: The Placement of Sun/Moon concerning Rahu/Ketu
Saturn and Rahu position in the Kundli, along with the Sun or the Moon, creates Pitru Dosha.
It’s believed to be the result of ancestral karmic debt, bringing suffering and disruptive relationships within the family.
Pitru Dosha worsens if the conjunction occurs in certain houses of the Kundli.
Guru Chandal Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Jupiter with Rahu/Ketu
The combination of Jupiter with Rahu or Ketu creates Guru Chandal Dosha.
It hampers wealth, education, and optimism in a native’s life, overshadowing the benefice effects of Jupiter.
This Dosha is notorious for bringing instability and adversity.
Grahan Dosha
Caused By: Eclipses and Placement of Sun/Moon
Grahan Dosha occurs if born during Solar or Lunar Eclipse, or when Sun/Moon is with Rahu/Ketu.
It can halt progress and bring familial issues, requiring timely rectification to avoid prolonged negativity.
Grahan Dosha also impacts issues related to children and childbirth.
Gandmool Dosha
Caused By: Nakshatras Ruled by Mercury and Ketu
Gandmool Dosha is based on the Nakshatra or Birth Star.
Born in Nakshatras ruled by Ketu and Mercury creates this Dosha, affecting family members, especially parents.
It’s common, affecting nearly one-fifth of the population.
Shani Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Saturn in Kundali
Saturn’s positions and transits in the birth chart can lead to Shani Dosha.
While not always malefic, certain positions of Saturn bring adversities.
A malefic Saturn in the wrong house can cause Sade Sati, Shani Dhaiya, or Mahadasha, resulting in challenges.
Shrapit Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Saturn and Rahu
Saturn and Rahu conjunction creates Shrapit Dosha, bringing obstacles and delays.
It’s associated with past life deeds and karmic debts, particularly affecting the native’s success.
Even Saturn’s aspect to Rahu can cause ill effects.
Chandra Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Moon concerning Rahu/Ketu
Chandra Dosha arises from Moon’s conjunction or aspect with Rahu/Ketu.
It brings unwanted thoughts, pessimism, and depression.
Wearing a Pearl after consulting an astrologer can mitigate its effects.
Kemadruma Dosha
Caused By: Placement of Moon in a Kundali
Occurs when the Moon is isolated in the birth chart, with empty houses before and after it.
It may indicate adversities in life, similar to Shani Dosha.
An experienced astrologer can assess its potential impacts accurately.
Remedies for Kundli Dosha
Understanding the Root Cause:
It’s crucial to comprehend why Kundli Doshas occur. These imbalances in our charts are often reflections of past karmas. An adept astrologer, deeply rooted in spirituality, can decipher these hidden meanings behind planetary placements.
Karma Correction:
Mere performance of remedies without addressing the root cause won’t bring relief. By aligning our actions with righteousness and moral conduct, we can mitigate the ill effects of Doshas. For instance, if someone has Guru Chandal yoga due to disrespect towards teachers in past lives, showing reverence to educators and engaging in religious activities can help alleviate its impact.
Primary Remedy:
The foremost remedy is correcting our karmas. All other remedies such as donations, gemstone wearing, yantra worship, mantra chanting, or wearing rudraksha beads come later in the process. Rectifying our actions is essential if we truly seek liberation from Kundli Doshas.
Long-Term Consequences:
Neglecting to rectify Doshas may exacerbate their intensity in future lives. Thus, it’s imperative to address and rectify Kundli Doshas once they’ve been identified, preventing a cycle of futile remedies and potential future hardships.
