Energy Conservation: As a seeker
Energy conservation day is celebrated on the 14th of December. It highlights the importance of energy consumption and its significance in our day-to-day life. It reminds us about the finite energy resources we have on earth. It also celebrates our country’s resource conservation and cost-efficient energy production achievements.
That’s the celebration of the energies which power our homes, industries, and cars and help advance our societies. But what about our internal energy? Have you ever been with someone who can drain you? have you ever entered a room that felt strange? At some point in life, people from negative situations cause mental and physical exhaustion. That is your internal energy being depleted. So as a seeker, how can we conserve our internal energy? Let’s read about it in the blog.
What is internal energy exchange?
Since you wake up in the morning, intentionally or unintentionally, you are participating in an energy exchange with the situations, thoughts, people, and even the outside world. Most of the time, this energy exchange is very subtle if you are unaware. And a few other times, these energy exchanges can be overwhelmingly exhausting.
For example, when your co-worker vents about how bad your boss is. He explains his experience and anxiety about the upcoming projects that have nothing to do with you. Without dragging you into his problems, he is just venting out to you, and even then, when he leaves, you cannot shake that feeling of negativity, stress, anxiety, and overall darkness. That’s an example of energy drainage.
On the other hand, when you meet with your spiritual Guru, your icon, your favorite sports player, or even an old friend, it makes you smile from within. This feeling of warmth lasts for days. You don’t have to be an empath to experience these feelings. This negative or positive energy exchange takes place subconsciously, which can be very confusing to a seeker if they cannot separate themselves from others.
Why should a seeker conserve internal energy?
Spiritual practices and solutions teach you how to shield ourselves from negative energies. At the same time, you must conserve the positive energy within. Preventing positive energy from draining is equally essential to a seeker.
A seeker must conserve their physical, mental, and spiritual energy to help others. Oversharing these energies with others exhaust them to the intense level of their soul, leading to burnout. When a seeker teaches themself to conserve the power within, it creates a barrier or a reserve button in their subconscious. This barrier helps them during the energy exchanges, prohibiting them from being utterly exhausted after the exchange.
Energy protection practices that work.
Recognize the feelings.
Stressed? Drained? Irritated? Take one step back, and identify what exactly you are feeling. Stress, back or neck pain, and anger are indications that stress is working in the background. Since morning, we get busy with tasks, lists, and chores, and we forget to pay attention to these signs and feelings behind them. You must understand that you are not a machine and have every right to be upset. Awareness of your emotions is the first step towards protecting your inner energy.
Boundaries.
Few of your friends give you encouragement, warmth, love, affection, and overall positivity. And few others bombard you with their worries, sorrows, petty complaints, and negativities. These are energy drainers. When you set a few rules and boundaries for yourself, you can create a shield around yourself, which will create distance between you and these negative people and prevent them from draining you.
Mindfulness.
Many times, incidents or people drain you without knowing you. Without being swept away by the emotions, if you take one step back and identify your feelings and emotions, you can limit your exposure to negativity. Mindfulness helps you be aware of your thoughts, self-conversation and feelings that affect you, your mindset, and those around you. When you practise mindfulness, you connect yourself with positivity and distance yourself from negativity, preventing energy drainage.
A safe space.
When you become mindful, it helps you to identify your emotional triggers. And when you place your triggers, you will need a safe space, a mental and emotional sanctuary that should allow you to take one step back, shelter, and just be yourself. You can dedicate some space in the home, a corner in your room dedicated to things you love to do. May it be crafting, painting, gardening, or any other hobby that will recharge you with positivity, hope, and cheer.
Trusting your instincts.
When you deal with certain situations or people, your guts tell you something. You can conserve your internal energy by trusting your innermost feelings. When you trust your instincts, it means you know who and what makes you feel good and evil. This experience makes you mature enough to decide how to deal with these people or situations. It helps create a social circle that makes you feel good and encourages your progress. If you cannot avoid a few people who drain you, all you can do is find people who can make you feel better and comfortable and leave you in a positive state. Trusting your instinct will make all this possible.
Stop the energy discharge.
You feel energy discharge because you allow someone or something to drain the energy from you. When you carry a burden of ego, you become obsessive even with the tiniest things. Just check out how easily you can get into an argument with someone if they have a difference of opinion with you. Or check out how easily you can be manipulated by these so-called influencers on social media?
Any time you react to a toxic stimulus, your ego starts working its magic, draining you of positivity. Every time this happens, take one step back. With a third person’s perspective, ask yourself, is this person or an incident worth your valuable energy? Most of the time, the answer will be No.
You can conserve and enhance your inner energy by creating a protective shield around you with meditation, mantra chanting, and chakra balancing. Enrol yourself in some aura cleansing or reiki sessions. Use salt baths for some spiritual self-care. While meditating, ask the universe to recharge yourself with positive inner energy. While hiking in a jungle, ask your spirit animal to show you the path of internal energy conservation. Root chakra meditation and tourmaline crystals will help you keep your inner energy intact by creating a force field around you. Calm your nervous system with breathing exercises, and practice gratitude for the positive people and incidences that boost your energy to progress on the spiritual path. These are the few ways you can conserve and enhance your inner power.
We hope you have gained some new insight into how to conserve your energy as a seeker.
