Throughout history, there have been stories of battles between darkness and light that captivate our imagination. In the heart of these legends lies a narrative that speaks to our deepest longing for spiritual growth and freedom.

Join us on an incredible adventure as we dive into the story of Arun, a powerful demon whose quest for power takes an unexpected turn. Get ready to witness the power of divine help in the form of Maa Bhramari, the Divine Maa having the powers of Humble bees. Let’s begin.

Demon Arun and his Boon

Once upon a time, in the distant past, there existed a fearsome demon named Arun. He possessed great power and had an intense desire to conquer the divine beings. Determined to achieve his goal, Arun embarked on a journey to the majestic Himalayas, the home of the gods, where he engaged in rigorous meditation and penance for thousands of years, hoping to please Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe.

Impressed by Arun’s unwavering devotion, Lord Brahma decided to test his sincerity. Accompanied by Goddess Gayatri, he appeared before the demon and granted him the opportunity to ask for a boon, a special favour or gift, of his choice. Arun, driven by his ambition, asked for the gift of immortality, the ability to live forever and never face death.

Listening attentively to Arun’s request, Lord Brahma compassionately spoke, “Dear Arun, in this mortal world, every being is bound by the inevitability of death. Even I, as the creator, have a predetermined lifespan. Therefore, I cannot grant you the boon of immortality as it goes against the natural order. Please consider asking for another gift, something within my power to bestow upon you.”

Arun pondered upon Brahma’s words and realised the wisdom behind them. He then replied humbly, “Lord Brahma, if immortality is not within your domain to grant, I seek protection from death caused by weapons, whether wielded by humans or women, animals, gods, or even demons.”

Pleased with Arun’s revised request, Lord Brahma smiled and uttered the words, “Tathastu,” meaning ‘so be it’ in divine language. With the boon of invulnerability, Arun’s confidence grew, and he amassed a massive demonic army, setting his sights on the celestial city of Amaravati, the capital of the gods ruled by Indra.

And so, armed with his newfound power, Arun began his fateful journey towards Amaravati, seeking to fulfil his ambitions and challenge the divine realm.

With his newfound powers, Arun took control over the sun, moon, Yama (the god of death), Vayu (the god of wind), and Agni (the god of fire). He ruled over them and even commanded time, gravity, and all other forces in the vast universe.

The defeated gods, feeling helpless and lost, sought refuge in the presence of Lord Shiva, the supreme deity. However, even the mighty Lord Shiva couldn’t undo the power of Brahma’s boon granted to Arun. The gods were filled with despair and didn’t know what to do.

The Divine Voice and the announcement

But then, a divine voice echoed through the skies above the gods, saying, “Oh, gods! You must worship the Divine Mother Bhagwati and find a way to dissuade Arun from his devotion to Gayatri, no matter what it takes.”

Following the heavenly command, Devguru Brihaspati, the guru of the gods, approached the demon king Arun with a plan to divert him from chanting Gayatri. Miraculously, Brihaspati’s divine magic worked, and Arun became captivated by the illusions created by the guru. Thus, he stopped his devoted meditation on Gayatri.

Maa Bhramari

Meanwhile, pleased by the gods’ worship and their devotion, Bhagwati, the Divine Mother, appeared before them in the form of Bhramari Devi. Her divine radiance shone like millions of suns, and she adorned herself with celestial ornaments. In her hand, she held gentle bees, and her necklace sparkled with flowers, creating enchanting illusions. The gods were overjoyed to witness the divine presence of Bhagwati.

Addressing the gods with kindness, Bhagwati said, “Oh, dear gods! Be fearless and share the purpose of your visit. It is my duty to alleviate the suffering of my devotees.”

And so, the gods, filled with hope and gratitude, began to explain their plight to Bhagwati, seeking her divine intervention and guidance in their struggle against the mighty demon Arun.

As the gods praised Bhagwati Bhramari, their voices resonated with love and reverence. They shared their sorrows and pleaded with Bhramari Devi to vanquish the powerful demon Arun, who had enslaved the universe with his brutality.

Moved by the gods’ heartfelt prayers, Bhagwati Bhramari graciously released millions of gentle bees from her divine hands. These bees carried within them countless illusions, spreading darkness across the earth. From every direction, humble bees emerged, creating a captivating spectacle.

Without delay, these mystical bees swiftly attacked Arun, the mighty demon, and his entire army. No weapon could harm these extraordinary bees, and their bites proved fatal to the demonic soldiers. In this fierce battle, Arun himself met his demise, along with his entire army. With Arun’s defeat, the gods’ crisis came to an end, and the universe was freed from his oppressive grip.

Having fulfilled the divine mission bestowed upon her by the gods, Bhagwati Bhramari gracefully departed from the universe, leaving behind a sense of peace and harmony.
