Manidweep, the mysterious Divine Abode of Maa Bhuvaneshwari
Some say She is so mighty that She cannot be comprehended by the human construct. Some say She is so beautiful; words cannot describe Her grace. Few say that She resides everywhere and nowhere at the same time. There are many opinions on the strength, beauty, grace, and love of Maa Bhagwati.
Ancient scriptures have tried describing Her aspects. They specifically describe Her unlimited power, Her unconditional love, wrath on the evil forces, and also Her abode in the heavens. In this blog, we are talking about a mystical place called Manidweep, a divine abode of Maa Bhuvaneshwari as described by the ancient scriptures.
The Divine Location:
Above the celestial abode of Lord Brahma, known as Brahmalok, lies Manidweep, also celebrated as Sarvalok. This sacred place is revered as the ultimate dwelling, offering a protective haven to the entire universe, akin to a vast umbrella. Shielded from the earthly heat, this divine sanctuary stands out for its unparalleled beauty and serenity.
The Emergence of Maa Bhagawati:
At the heart of Manidweep lies Chintamanigriha, the central place of worship for Goddess Bhuvaneshwari. Symbolically, this location represents the ten power elements of the original nature of Bhagwati Bhuvaneshwari. The high platform of the goddess is adorned with elements of celestial power, with Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Rudra, and Lord Sadashiv serving as the foundational support. It is believed that during the creation, Maa Bhagawati manifested in two forms – Lord Bhuvaneshwar (Shiv or Mahadev) on the right side and Maa Bhuvaneshwari on the left side.
Maa Bhuvaneshwari’s Divine Form:
Seated beside Lord Mahadev, Maa Bhuvaneshwari is adorned with a divine girdle made of nine types of gems, while gold and Vaidurya Mani bangles grace Her arms. Her elevated forehead is adorned with Kumkum, and a priceless crown of gems rests on Her head. With three lotus-shaped eyes and four arms holding a Noose, Goad, Var, and displaying Abhaya and Varada Mudra, She radiates a cool yet warm brilliance.
Delving into the Divine Abode:
In Her celestial abode, Maa Bhuvaneshwari is surrounded by friends, maids, and devoted followers who continuously extol Her virtues. Her primary powers-Iccha Shakti (willpower), Kriya Shakti (power of action) and Dnyana Shakti (power of knowledge), Lajja (Modesty), Tushti (satisfaction), Pushti (affirmations), Kirti (fame), Kanti (glory), Kshama (forgiveness), Daya (kindness), Buddhi (intellect), Medha (intelligence): all these emotions accompany Her in the Goddess forms.
Jaya, Vijaya, Ajita, Aparajita, Nitya, Vilasini, Dogdhi, Aghora, and Amangala – these nine Peethashaktis representing live powers residing in divine Shakti Peethas, along with doorkeepers Shankha Nidhi and Padmanidhi, are ever-ready to serve Maa Bhagwati.
Eternal Splendor of Chintamanigriha:
Divine Mother Bhagwati’s Chintamanigriha is said to be one thousand miles long and wide. It is said that this abode of Maa Bhagwati is beautiful in the outer world. Neither was it destroyed during the time of the destruction of the universe nor was it created during the time of the creation of the universe. The worshipers of Goddess Bhagwati come here after their demise. There are many trees bearing desirable fruits here.
It is believed that in Manidweep, no one’s body gets weakened by disease. Old age can never take its toll. This divine place is free from worry, lust, lust and anger. All the people living here remain youthful and bright like thousands of suns. Only the devotees of Bhagwati living in every universe get the privilege of seeing Bhuvaneshwari here. In this way, Bhagwati Bhuvaneshwari, while residing in Manidweep, fulfills all the wishes of Her devotees and also provides salvation.
As we reflect on the wisdom embedded in the scriptures, let us carry the essence of Manidweep with us. May the blessings of Maa Bhuvaneshwari be with all the devoted souls across the universe as they seek salvation and the fulfillment of their deepest wishes. In this spiritual odyssey, may the divine grace of Maa Bhagwati resonate within our hearts, guiding us toward a path of enlightenment and eternal bliss.
For spiritual practitioners seeking to deepen their Sadhana practice, the vivid imagery of Manidweep and the divine abode of Maa Bhuvaneshwari offers a profound source of inspiration and focus. Picture Chintamanigriha’s vast expanse, its beauty untouched by the cycles of creation and destruction, as a metaphor for the timeless nature of the spiritual journey. Envision it as a sacred space within, a realm where the mind transcends temporal concerns.
