Natesh-Lesser Known Avatars of Mahadev
What is the importance of plays and movies in our lives? They not only bring entertainment but also valuable lessons and a means of temporary escape from our daily challenges. For thousands of years, we as a society have always celebrated actors as stars or celebrities with respect for their dedication, hard work, and glamor.
However, it’s fascinating to delve into the origins of this art form. Do you know the name of the first performer in the universe? Who has invented the art of storytelling with the help of acting and dancing? It was none other than our Bholenath Mahadev. We are talking about Natesh, the lesser-known Avatara of Lord Shiva, who was considered the first actor in the universe, and this is His story.
Penance of Maa Parvati
In the tranquil embrace of the Himalayas, Maa Parvati, having completed her penance, awaited the arrival of Lord Mahadev. As the misty veils parted, the divine presence of Lord Shiva stood before her. With reverence, she asked for his hand in marriage, to which Mahadev gracefully consented.
Yet, embodying the essence of divine femininity, Parvati proposed a condition: Mahadev must seek her father Himalaya’s blessing for their union. Only then could their sacred bond be sanctified.
Resolute, Mahadev agreed. Parvati, filled with anticipation, journeyed to her father’s kingdom, sharing the joyous news. In celebration of her successful penance, King Himalaya orchestrated grand festivities, showering blessings upon his subjects and offering prayers to the gods.
Quality Time Interrupted
Amidst the jubilant revelry, Queen Mena and her beloved daughter, Parvati, found solace in each other’s company. However, their tranquility was soon interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Mahadev, adorned in vibrant attire disguised as some kind of a performer.
With a flourish, Mahadev began to perform enchanting dances and melodious songs, captivating all who beheld his divine artistry. Even Queen Mena, entranced by his mesmerizing display, felt her heart stir with absolute admiration.
As a token of appreciation, Queen Mena offered a vessel brimming with precious jewels. Yet, to her astonishment, Mahadev declined, requesting Parvati as his fee.
In a mix of bewilderment and indignation, Queen Mena denounced the audacious request, ready to expel the beguiling performer. However, before she could act, King Himalaya arrived, witnessing the divine spectacle unfolding in his courtyard.
Overwhelmed by the celestial performance of Lord Shiva, King Himalaya was filled with awe and joy. Yet, when Mahadev reiterated his desire for Parvati as a token of appreciation for his magical performance, King Himalaya’s patience waned, his anger rising.
Miracle of Lord Shiva
Just as he was about to dismiss the audacious suitor, a miraculous revelation occurred. With a mischievous smile, Mahadev vanished, returning to his celestial abode atop Mount Kailash.
In the wake of this divine intervention, King Himalaya and Queen Mena realized the true nature of Mahadev’s playful ploy. Filled with profound devotion, they understood that their ascetic daughter, Parvati, was destined to be the consort of Lord Shiva.
Thus, with hearts brimming with reverence, King Himalaya and Queen Mena journeyed to Mount Kailash, formally proposing their daughter’s hand in marriage. And so, on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri, the celestial union of Parvati and Shiva was consecrated, marking the culmination of divine love and destiny.
Moral of the Story
This story teaches us a profound lesson in spirituality. It says the whole universe is like a huge stage, and we’re all actors in a never-ending play. Lord Shiva, who’s like the main actor, shows us how everything in life is temporary and not really important in the grand scheme of things.
For example, when Queen Mena offers fancy jewels to Lord Shiva, it represents how we’re often attracted to shiny, material things that don’t last. But Lord Shiva’s love for Maa Parvati, who represents spiritual fulfillment, shows us that true happiness comes from something deeper.
The story also talks about how being humble and devoted can help us on our spiritual journey. King Himalaya, who initially gets upset, learns to respect the divine presence around him. This reminds us that when we let go of our pride and open our hearts, we can see the beauty in everything.
In the end, the love story between divine mother Parvati and Lord Shiva is like a symbol of the connection between our souls and the divine. Lord Shiva invites us to join the dance of life and discover our true selves as part of something bigger.
May the enchanting playfulness of Lord Shiva inspire and uplift your spirit, guiding you towards a deeper understanding of your spiritual journey. May it awaken the consciousness within you, leading you to embrace humility, devotion, and the eternal dance of existence. May you find peace, joy, and fulfillment as you walk the path illuminated by the divine light of Lord Shiva’s cosmic dance.
