Kirtana
Kirtana is when a devotee sings about how great God is. The person who is singing feels very happy and emotional. They love God so much that they even cry. Sometimes, they get chills and their voice might sound shaky because they feel so much love for their divine. They also like to talk about God to everyone and sing His praises wherever they go. They ask others to join in singing and dancing with them. It’s a really joyful experience and it can make other people happy too.
Smarana
Smarana is when a devotee always remembers God everywhere, everytime. A devotee never forgets His name or what He looks like. He only thinks about Him and forgets about everything else. A devotee remembers how great God is and His good qualities. Sometimes a devotee forgets about our own body and just thinks about God, like Dhruva and Prahlada did.
Archana
Archana is when a devotee worships God. They can worship Him using things like flowers, incense, or just by having a strong feeling inside. Only people with a very pure mind can worship God using their feelings. a devotee should worship God according to the rules their Guru tells them or in their own way if they are advanced. The reason a devotee worships God is to make Him happy and to get rid of their own ego and love God.
Dasya
Dasya is when a devotee loves God by thinking of themselves as His servant. A devotee serves God and does what He wants. They know how great God is and that they are like His masters. A devotee can do Dasya by serving and worshiping God’s statues in temples, cleaning temples, thinking about God, serving holy people, helping poor and sick people, and serving those who love God.
Sakhya
Sakhya-Bhava is when a devotee becomes friends with God. They always want to be with Him, treat Him like a family member or friend, and love Him like they love themselves. This is an important part of Bhakti-Yoga.
